A CORPORATE STORY
SMC Corporation has its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. It contributes to automation and labor saving around the world. It has been active in overseas market for some 27 years ever since the commencement of capital participation in a company in Australia in 1976. During this period, SMC's products have been established as a widely recognized international brand through sales, technical support and after sales service overseas market, and now comprise more than 45 percent of the world market. SMC has established local subsidiaries in 32 countries and its sales and service networks now cover 49 countries. Production plants in the US, Australia, Germany, Italy, the UK, Singapore, Canada, etc. produce for local supply, while the Singapore plant also produces for distribution in Japan. These international networks cover practically all the world market, with sales and service activities tailored to the needs of local customers. SMC will continue to reinforce the production systems of its major overseas plants in the US, Germany, Italy, the UK and Singapore. |
THE PHILIPPINE OPERATIONS
During the last quarter of 1989, SMC PNEUMATICS (PHILS.), Inc. was established and was in full operation in 1990. At present, it is the leading pneumatic supplier in the Philippines with branches and dealers nationwide. With more than a hundred employees, the company's main office houses the administration, sales, marketing, production, warehouse, and training center.
SMC PNEUMATICS (PHILS.), INC. is the leading company in the Philippines that provides solutions to the manufacturing industries in industrial automation using pneumatic control components. Established in 1989, the company has grown with over a hundred employees to compose the complete organization that ensures services for total customer satisfactions.
SMC Pneumatics (Phils.), Inc. is a local subsidiary of the world’s largest pneumatic company, SMC CORPORATION, with headquarters located in Japan. Therefore, it belongs to the family of SMC Group.
As an all around manufacturer of pneumatic equipment, the SMC Group offers a wide array of flexible products for pneumatic systems. It is a leader in pneumatic control technology, and is committed to research and development, in order to respond to diversify demand associated with rapid technological innovation. LOCAL PRODUCTION AND AFTER SALES SERVICE
After two years of operation, SMC Pneumatics Philippines decided to start the local production of Air Cylinders in order to improve delivery service to local industries. In addition, the Technical Department was strengthened by hiring more engineers and technicians in order to provide excellent customer support services including installation supervision, design assistance, and troubleshooting. |
SMC INTERNATIONAL TRAINING
SMC International Training is a training center set up by the company which conducts training seminars on Pneumatic and Automation Technologies for Filipino engineers and technicians. Courses that are conducted on regular schedules as "Basic Pneumatics for Low Cost Automation", "Electro-Pneumatics and PLC Applications", "Advanced Programmable Logic Controller", " Circuit Design and Maintenance of Pneumatic Systems", and "Industrial Vacuum Technology".
The center offers different seminars for Industrial Automation Technologies with the sophisticated training equipment and modern seminar facilities. The trainors are experts in the field of pneumatics and allied subjects, as results of rigid engineering training aside from their engineering profession.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT IN AUTOMATION
Through the high level of inventory, logistics support, is carried along by the warehouse to ensure that faster delivery of items from ex-stock is done. Widest range of pneumatic components can be found only in SMC Pneumatics' warehouse that guarantees availability of parts and components to the local manufacturing industries.
SMC’s logistic support will show that the wide range of pneumatic control products and systems are readily available from the shelves as our more capable production staff, design engineers, and project technicians are well trained to prepare the customer’s requirements in short possible delivery times. This is also supported by our warehouse staff as availability of parts and components is guaranteed.
